Candle FAQ

What size are your candles?

All candles are 8 oz and have an average burn time of 50 hrs

What type of wax do you use?

We use a coconut-soy wax blend that burns clean, without smoke, and minimal soot. This wax blend has also been tested to prevent tunneling.

Our coconut and soy waxes are gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and come from renewable sources. The entire blend utilizes only FDA approved waxes.

We add a small amount of food grade paraffin because we have found it to enhance the performance of our wax and give an excellent hot throw.

Scientific studies have proven paraffin wax to burn just as cleanly as soy, beeswax, or palm. And the highly refined food-grade nature of our paraffin puts it in the natural category. You can learn more in this study performed by the National Candle Association. This wax is considered Natural from the National Candle Association.

Our wax is:

  • carcinogen-free
  • cruelty-free
  • gluten-free
  • mutagen-free
  • phthalate-free
  • recyclable
  • toxin-free
  • vegan

Do you use essential oils?

We use fragrance oils.

This is because essential oils are notorious for not playing nicely with candle wax due to lower flash points. Lower flash points cause essential oils to evaporate when added to hot candle wax and results in a candle with little to no scent.

What is a fragrance oil?

Fragrance oils are a blend of synthetic and natural components. Fragrance oils offer a wider range of scents and are are known for their consistent and long-lasting fragrance.

Fragrance oils are also equally as safe while offering consistent scent and more sustainable sourcing to achieve the same effects that would be harder to achieve and source from purely essential oils.

What type of wick do you use?

We use wooden wicks for a lovely, quietly crackling ambience as the candle burns.

All wood is FSC-certified and provide a beautiful horizontal flame shape.

What kind of vessel houses the candle?

We only use heavyweight glass with thick walls that can carry a high temperature tolerance so that your candle doesn’t get too hot when burning.

Where are the candles made?

All candles are handmade in small batches in Dallas, TX.
